  "notes": [
"The chapter begins with separate letters and identifies the verses as Scripture and a clear recitation. The letters are preserved without assigning them a speculative expansion. Attention is directed toward the message that follows and the response it asks of its hearers.",
"Those who reject may come to wish they had submitted to God. The verse opens a warning about recognition arriving too late. It invites reflection before present certainty hardens into a choice that can no longer be revised.",
"Eating and enjoyment are paired with a hope that deceives. The criticism concerns absorption that postpones responsibility indefinitely, not the mere existence of ordinary pleasures. The warning asks whether a person's expectations are helping them live truthfully or avoid necessary reflection.",
"The destruction of a township is placed within a known decree. The verse gives judgment an ordered rather than arbitrary character. It does not supply a calendar through which readers can identify the appointed end of any present community.",
"A community cannot move beyond the limits of its appointed term. The short statement qualifies human confidence in controlling collective destiny. Planning and action remain meaningful, but neither power nor impatience grants authority over the final boundaries of time.",
"The opponents address the recipient of the Reminder while dismissing him as mad. Their language combines acknowledgment of his claim with ridicule. The verse records an accusation; it does not endorse using illness as an insult or substitute for argument.",
"The critics demand visible angels as proof of truthfulness. The next verse challenges their assumption that such a visitation would be merely a spectacle. Their request treats the unseen as something the messenger should produce on demand for their inspection.",
"The answer connects the sending of angels with truth and a decisive outcome. A requested sign may carry responsibility beyond what its demanders imagine. The verse redirects curiosity toward the consequences of receiving and then rejecting unmistakable warning.",
"God declares the revelation and guardianship of the Reminder. The assurance stands against the mockery and demands surrounding the messenger. The verse grounds confidence in divine protection without supplying a detailed historical account of every manuscript or stage of transmission.",
"Messengers were sent among earlier groups before Muhammad. The reminder places his experience within a longer history. Opposition does not automatically show that a mission has failed; the account prepares him to recognize a recurring pattern rather than an isolated ordeal.",
"Ridicule appears as a familiar reaction to messengers. Its recurrence gives context to present hostility without making ridicule an argument against the message. The verse invites readers to distinguish social reception from the truth or falsehood of what is being conveyed.",
"The passage moves from outward mockery to its inward passage through guilty hearts. The verse is brief and continues into the next statement about disbelief. Its concern is entrenched reception, rather than a visible process that can be described anatomically.",
"Earlier precedents have passed before the audience, yet belief does not follow. Information about others' outcomes can be available without changing one's own direction. The verse asks whether history is being considered as a warning or kept at a comfortable distance.",
"An imagined gate of heaven pushes the demand for evidence to an extraordinary extreme. The conditional scene prepares the response in the following verse. Its purpose is to expose resistance that can reinterpret even a spectacular experience rather than reconsider its stance.",
"The opponents would attribute the experience to impaired sight or enchantment. The imagined response reveals an objection protected from every possible answer. The passage questions whether the demand for evidence is sincere when any result can be dismissed in advance.",
"The sky's constellations or stellar stations are presented as beauty for observers. After an imagined supernatural demand, attention turns toward a visible sign already available. Wonder need not wait for a private spectacle when the ordinary heavens invite reflection.",
"The heavens are described as protected from every outcast devil. The verse belongs to the Quran's account of unseen realities. It establishes a boundary around access without giving the reader a physical portrait or a map of those beings.",
"The account describes an attempt to steal a hearing and a pursuing flame. Its unseen significance is supplied by revelation, not by direct human observation of the beings involved. A picture of a night sky can evoke the passage without pretending to document them.",
"Spread land, firm hills, and measured growth bring the reader back to the inhabited earth. The verse joins landscape with provision. Its invitation is to notice order and suitability, rather than derive unsupported technical claims from a brief devotional description.",
"Livelihoods are provided for people and for creatures they do not themselves maintain. The field of care is wider than the human household. The verse challenges the assumption that life depends only on the resources people visibly control or distribute.",
"Everything is described as having its stores with God and being sent in an appointed measure. Availability is therefore a gift rather than an unlimited human possession. The verse encourages humility toward resources without providing a numerical formula for their distribution.",
"Winds and rain support fertility and drinking, while people are reminded that they do not own the ultimate store. The verse makes dependence concrete through water. Human management matters, but it operates within conditions it did not create and cannot command absolutely.",
"God gives life and death and remains the inheritor when creatures pass away. The statement places human possession within a limited span. What people hold can be used responsibly, but it cannot become a permanent claim against the Creator.",
"Those ahead and those behind are known to God. The compact contrast gathers different human positions within complete awareness. Whether one is prominent, delayed, early, or easily overlooked, the final gathering does not depend on the limits of human observation.",
"The Lord will gather people together and is described as wise and aware. Knowledge and judgment are joined in the promise. The verse answers the preceding reminder of life's limits with assurance that the return is neither confused nor without purpose.",
"The human being is described through clay and altered earth. This humble material origin prepares the account of Iblis' refusal. The passage invites reflection on creation and dignity without supplying a laboratory sequence or an image of the first human.",
"The jinn are described as created earlier from fire. The verse distinguishes origins without making either creature independent of God. It offers no visible anatomy, so illustrations should not pretend that a recognizable body can be reconstructed from this description.",
"God announces the making of a mortal from clay to the angels. The narrative foregrounds divine intention before the command that follows. Its significance lies in the Creator's authority, not in an opportunity to portray God, angels, or the prophet Adam.",
"After the human being is formed and given life, the angels are commanded to prostrate. The phrase concerning the Spirit belongs to this divine act of creation. It should not be turned into a claim that a human being is part of God.",
"The angels' obedience is emphasized through their acting together. The brief verse sets a clear background for the exception that follows. Their submission recognizes the command's source, rather than calculating worth according to the material from which the human was made.",
"Iblis refuses to be among those who prostrate. The account isolates his response from the common obedience just described. His refusal becomes the turning point through which pride, blame, temptation, and the limits of his power are explored.",
"Iblis is asked why he has not joined the prostration. The question draws his reasoning into the open. The narrative does not leave rebellion as a mute act; it reveals the judgment about another creature through which he attempts to justify it.",
"Iblis points to the human being's clay as his reason for refusing. He treats material comparison as more important than the command itself. The verse exposes a pride that reduces another's worth to origin and overlooks the Creator who grants honor.",
"The command to depart names Iblis as outcast. His refusal has consequences beyond the moment of disobedience. The verse continues a revealed account of the unseen and gives no basis for assigning a physical location or appearance to the scene.",
"The curse is described as lasting until the Day of Judgment. The narrative places rebellion within a larger horizon than immediate defiance. Its warning concerns the seriousness of persistent opposition, without making Iblis an independent power outside divine authority.",
"Iblis asks for reprieve until the resurrection. The request seeks time rather than repentance or correction. This distinction matters in the narrative: delay can be desired as an opportunity to continue wrongdoing, not only as a space in which to return.",
"The answer grants a delay, continuing into the next verse's qualification. Being allowed time is not the same as being approved. The account helps distinguish divine permission for an event to unfold from endorsement of the intention behind it.",
"The reprieve lasts to an appointed time. Iblis does not gain unrestricted control over duration by requesting delay. Even within this account of rebellion, the framework remains divine sovereignty rather than a contest between two equal and independent powers.",
"Iblis blames his situation and declares an intention to beautify error for people. The threat concerns persuasion and distorted appearance. The verse encourages scrutiny of attractive wrongdoing, while refusing to let blame replace responsibility for a chosen course.",
"The threat itself makes an exception for God's devoted servants. This prepares the reassurance that follows concerning the limits of temptation. The narrative does not present deception as irresistible or portray every human response as already defeated before a choice is made.",
"The reply establishes a straight course before explaining the limit on Iblis' authority. This short verse should be read with the next one rather than detached as an isolated slogan. The exchange turns from the tempter's boast to the Lord's assurance.",
"Iblis has no authority over God's servants except those who choose to follow his way of error. The emphasis limits the earlier threat. Temptation remains serious, but it does not erase allegiance, responsibility, or the possibility of divine protection.",
"Hell is named as the destination of those who persist in that following. The warning describes divine judgment rather than a punishment readers can administer. Its purpose is to expose the end of a path that temptation first presents as attractive.",
"Seven gates and an appointed portion are mentioned in the account of Hell. The verse gives a scriptural detail without a visible plan or map. Responsible illustration can suggest warning symbolically while acknowledging that the unseen is not available for reconstruction.",
"The narrative turns from warning toward the mindful, surrounded by gardens and flowing water. The contrast gives hope a vivid setting. These images describe promised reward, not a terrestrial location whose boundaries or precise appearance can be verified.",
"The welcome joins peace with security. After the account of threat and judgment, the brief greeting offers relief from fear. It conveys a quality of the promised life that matters beyond any attempt to picture its surroundings.",
"The promised reward includes the cleansing of rancor and companionship face to face. Peace is therefore relational as well as material. The verse invites reflection on how deeply resentment can burden earthly life and how complete reconciliation would change it.",
"Neither exhaustion nor forced departure disturbs the promised inhabitants. The assurance contrasts with the fragility of earthly safety and comfort. Its emphasis is lasting rest, not the accumulation of possessions that must continually be defended from loss.",
"The messenger is told to proclaim God's forgiveness and mercy to His servants. The direct announcement stands at the center of the passage's balance. A reader should hear this invitation fully, rather than allow surrounding warnings to erase its hope.",
"The assurance of mercy is followed by the seriousness of punishment. The two declarations belong together without canceling one another. Hope need not become complacency, and fear need not become despair when both are held within the revealed message.",
"A new narrative begins with visitors to Abraham. The text will disclose their message and mission through conversation. It does not provide their earthly identities or invite a portrait of the prophet or the angelic messengers involved in the account.",
"The guests offer peace, while Abraham voices fear. The narrative allows a prophet's concern to be spoken rather than hidden. The next response brings reassurance, showing that the scene's emotional tension is part of the message being conveyed.",
"The visitors reassure Abraham and announce a son endowed with knowledge. The promise changes the direction of the encounter from alarm to hope. This verse leaves the son unnamed, so a caption should not add a name as though it appears here.",
"Abraham asks about the news in light of his old age. The question gives voice to the distance between ordinary expectation and the announced gift. The narrative presents wonder and inquiry without requiring the reader to invent an exact age.",
"The visitors affirm the truth of their announcement and warn against despair. Reassurance addresses the very circumstance that made the promise difficult to imagine. The verse invites openness to mercy without turning this particular miracle into a guarantee of every desired outcome.",
"Abraham answers by rejecting despair of his Lord's mercy. The response expresses trust within an extraordinary encounter. It should encourage hope with compassion, rather than become an accusation against people who struggle with grief, depression, or prolonged uncertainty.",
"Abraham asks what further mission the messengers carry. The conversation moves beyond his personal good news toward another community. The transition holds mercy and judgment together, continuing the balance announced immediately before the narrative began.",
"The messengers describe being sent to a guilty people. The verse introduces judgment without yet detailing the immediate scene. Its language belongs to the particular narrative and should not be generalized into hostility toward modern populations or social groups.",
"Lot's family is distinguished from the people facing judgment, and deliverance is promised. The narrative makes a moral distinction within a community rather than treating location alone as decisive. The following exception further shows that household connection is not automatic immunity.",
"Lot's wife is excepted from the promised rescue and will remain behind. The verse does not describe every detail of her conduct here. Its place in the account prevents family relationship from being mistaken for a substitute for one's own response.",
"The scene shifts from Abraham's conversation to the household of Lot. The transition connects the announced mission with its unfolding events. Little geographical detail is given, so the narrative should not be expanded into a confidently mapped route between ancient homes.",
"Lot recognizes the visitors as unfamiliar. His statement gives the meeting an ordinary human beginning before their purpose is explained. The narrative's meaning does not depend on inventing faces or costumes for messengers whose unseen identity is part of the account.",
"The visitors say they bring what the people have been disputing. The transition from argument to arrival is central to the warning. Persistent denial has not changed the truth of the announcement, even though its fulfillment had been resisted.",
"The messengers affirm the truthfulness of what they bring. The reassurance prepares Lot to act on the instructions that follow. The scene contrasts reliable warning with the community's dispute, making trust consequential in a moment when decisive movement is required.",
"Lot is instructed to travel with his household at night and keep them moving as commanded. The verse emphasizes ordered departure under danger. It does not supply a modern escape trail, nor does it authorize inventing additional incidents along the way.",
"The coming judgment is made clear to Lot, with morning named as its horizon. This is narrative timing within the event, not an absolute calendar date. The urgency explains the nighttime departure without supporting a precise historical year for the destruction.",
"The townspeople arrive excited by news of the visitors. Read with Lot's following appeal, their enthusiasm carries a threatening character. The passage concerns a particular abusive encounter, not a basis for stereotyping everyone who shares some later social label.",
"Lot identifies the visitors as his guests and asks the crowd not to disgrace him. Hospitality includes protection from harm. The appeal makes the immediate ethical issue visible: people under his care are being threatened by collective pressure.",
"Lot joins concern for his guests with a call to responsibility before God. He asks the crowd to stop an act that would bring shame. The scene presents moral protest against threatened abuse, rather than treating crowd enthusiasm as a source of legitimacy.",
"The crowd recalls a prohibition it had imposed on Lot's dealings with others. Their response attempts to control whom he may receive or protect. The verse deepens the picture of coercive social power rather than presenting a neutral disagreement about hosting visitors.",
"Lot refers to his daughters while seeking to divert the crowd from his guests. The verse is brief and its fuller interpretation belongs to commentary. It must not be turned into permission to offer anyone for coercion or sexual violence.",
"The people are described as moving blindly in their frenzy. The image emphasizes their inability or refusal to recognize the seriousness of the moment. Their collective excitement has become a barrier to judgment rather than evidence that their course is sound.",
"The decisive cry overtakes them as the sun rises. The timing answers the earlier announcement to Lot. The verse records the narrative's outcome without supplying scientific measurements or a verified archaeological layer that could independently date the event.",
"The destruction is described through overturning and stones of heated clay. This is the Quran's account of a particular judgment, not a human method to imitate. No named modern location or exact ancient date is established by this verse alone.",
"The narrative is offered as a sign to those able to observe and discern. Its purpose reaches beyond curiosity about a catastrophe. The reader is asked to recognize the moral pattern in the story rather than merely imagine its dramatic surface.",
"The site is described as lying along an enduring road. That reference made the account concrete for its audience, but it does not provide modern coordinates. Any proposed identification requires evidence beyond the verse's brief indication of a traveled route.",
"The account's lesson is again called a sign for believers. Repetition brings the narrative back to its purpose after the vivid events. The important response is thoughtful faithfulness, not confidence in a reconstruction of details the text leaves unstated.",
"Another community is introduced through wrongdoing and its wooded setting. The verse does not name its town or give a date. Later associations can be discussed as interpretation, while the immediate warning remains the failure of a community to act rightly.",
"The account connects judgment with locations visible along a clear route. Travel can become an occasion for remembering earlier peoples. The wording does not justify identifying every ruin beside a modern road as one of the places intended here.",
"The chapter's namesake community is described as rejecting the messengers. The verse begins a short account centered on refusal and false security. Nearby surviving monuments should not automatically be identified as the homes of these people without separate historical evidence.",
"The community received signs but turned away. Its problem is therefore described as response, not simply lack of information. The verse asks the reader to notice how familiarity with a warning can coexist with continued refusal to take it seriously.",
"Hewn dwellings give the people a sense of safety. The image makes their confidence tangible, while the following verses expose its limits. UNESCO dates Hegra's famous monumental tombs to Nabataean times; those tombs are not proof of these particular dwellings.",
"The cry reaches the rock-dwelling community in the morning. Their constructed security cannot prevent the announced judgment. The narrative supplies a time within the day, but no absolute date or identifiable archaeological destruction level follows from that detail.",
"What the people accumulated fails to help them. The concise conclusion distinguishes usefulness in ordinary life from ultimate protection. Building skill and wealth are not condemned simply for existing; the warning concerns the confidence that treats them as sufficient refuge.",
"Creation has truth and purpose, and the Hour is certain; the messenger is therefore told to forgive graciously. The movement is striking: accountability belongs to God, while the immediate human response is shaped by dignified restraint rather than consuming retaliation.",
"The Lord is named as the knowing Creator. The statement supports the preceding confidence in purposeful creation and coming judgment. Human uncertainty about outcomes does not imply that events are beyond knowledge, nor does it authorize people to claim that knowledge themselves.",
"The gift of seven oft-repeated verses is named alongside the great Quran. Sahih al-Bukhari 4704 identifies these with Al-Fatihah. The transmitted explanation is distinguished from the verse's wording, and the gift redirects attention from opponents' resources toward revelation.",
"The messenger is discouraged from longing for others' worldly enjoyments or being consumed by grief over them. He is directed toward tenderness with believers. The verse turns attention from comparative wealth to the quality of care within a faithful community.",
"The messenger identifies himself as a plain warner. This keeps his role understandable after narratives of unseen events and earlier peoples. His task is faithful communication, not possession of every worldly advantage or control over how each listener chooses to respond.",
"The verse introduces those who divide, continuing into the next description of their treatment of the Quran. Its short wording should remain connected with that context. The passage warns against fragmenting a message in ways that evade its coherent claim.",
"The Quran is treated in divided portions by those being warned. The concern is not ordinary study by passages, but a response that fragments the message itself. Readers are invited to consider how individual verses belong within a larger revealed whole.",
"The certainty of questioning is emphasized before the next verse specifies its subject. No individual's role disappears into a group identity. The warning brings responsibility back from abstract disputes about the message to the people who choose how to respond.",
"The questioning concerns actual conduct. This completes the preceding assurance that all will be called to account. Religious argument does not float apart from moral life; the way people handle a message and treat others belongs to their record.",
"The messenger is told to proclaim the command and turn away from the idolaters' obstruction. The instruction emphasizes clarity and persistence. It does not supply an exact year for the beginning of public preaching without additional historical evidence.",
"God promises sufficiency against the mockers. The reassurance answers a pressure introduced near the chapter's beginning. It supports continued communication without making every hostile remark the messenger's personal burden to defeat or allowing ridicule to determine the truth of the mission.",
"The opponents' association of another deity with God is named, followed by a warning that they will know. The verse connects ridicule with a substantive disagreement about worship. Ultimate disclosure belongs to God rather than to a contest of insults.",
"The messenger's constricted chest under hostile speech is explicitly recognized. Steadfastness is not portrayed as emotional numbness. The acknowledgment prepares a compassionate response through worship, showing that pain can be real even when the right direction remains clear.",
"Praise and prostration answer the distress just acknowledged. Worship offers a direction for the burdened heart rather than pretending the hurt never occurred. The verse connects resilience with renewed attention to God, not with obsessive engagement in the opponents' words.",
"The closing command continues worship until certainty arrives. Ibn Kathir explains this certainty as death, not a spiritual stage that removes the duty to worship. The chapter ends with sustained devotion after its accounts of gifts, warnings, mercy, and opposition."
