  "notes": [
"An oath by the star at its setting opens the chapter. The celestial image prepares an affirmation of revelation. It does not identify a dated meteor shower or require a modern photograph to establish the scene.",
"The messenger is addressed as the audience’s companion, someone within their own experience. The charge of error is rejected. The verse prepares the distinction between personal invention and the revelation described in the following lines.",
"The speech being defended is not presented as an expression of private desire. Read with the next verse, the focus is the revelation conveyed. The passage establishes its claimed source rather than a portrait of the speaker.",
"The message is identified as inspired revelation. This answers the preceding concern about desire and invention. The following description develops how the messenger received it, while the illustrations leave the unseen agents and divine reality unpictured.",
"A powerful teacher is described within the account of reception. The verse itself supplies a quality rather than a personal name. The later contextual note attributes Aisha’s explanation of the vision instead of silently resolving every pronoun.",
"Strength and a clear appearance continue the description. The account concerns an encounter outside the ordinary classroom or gathering. The artwork uses the surrounding horizon without attempting to draw the unseen being involved in the revelation.",
"The upper horizon locates the vision within its narrated scene. It is not an exact earthly viewing platform or a modern astronomical coordinate. The landscape supports the text while leaving the object of the vision unpictured.",
"The account describes drawing near and descending. The brief statement continues the preceding vision rather than a new dated event. Its language is retained without turning the encounter into a physical illustration of the divine.",
"Nearness is conveyed through the comparison of two bows’ length or less. The language gives the encounter intensity and closeness. It does not provide a measurable diagram by which the reader can reconstruct the unseen scene.",
"Revelation reaches the servant as stated in the verse. The wording does not disclose every detail of that communication. The reader should preserve the text’s reserve rather than add an invented message, dialogue, or visual form.",
"The heart did not deny or falsify what was seen. The verse affirms the integrity of the experience within the chapter’s defense of revelation. It does not turn every strong personal impression into an equivalent authoritative claim.",
"The audience is challenged for disputing what the messenger saw. This continues the account’s defense of his testimony. The question belongs to this particular revelation narrative rather than a rule that every claimed vision must be accepted.",
"Another seeing is recalled. In Muslim 177a, Aisha explains the related vision passages through Gabriel and rejects an ocular sight of Allah. This edition attributes her explanation rather than presenting an invented visible form of the encounter.",
"The lote-tree stands at the utmost boundary within the vision account. It is not an identified tree growing at a present earthly location. The artwork may evoke a distant tree without claiming to portray the unseen site exactly.",
"The Garden of Abode is placed near the lote-tree in the account. This belongs to the vision’s revealed setting. No geographical pin or earthly garden is offered as its verified location or exact visual equivalent.",
"The description states that the tree was covered by what covered it, leaving the detail deliberately unspecified. The reading retains that reserve. It does not add colors, beings, or objects as facts beyond the words supplied.",
"The gaze neither turned aside nor exceeded its limit. The verse presents steadiness within the encounter. It belongs to the chapter’s emphasis on reliable reception, not an invitation to invent further details of the vision.",
"The account concludes by affirming the sight of great signs of the Lord. The wording directs attention to signs rather than a physical divine portrait. It closes the vision section before challenging the audience’s own unsupported claims.",
"The audience is asked to consider two names associated with its worship. The question begins a contrast with the revealed account just given. The chapter names them without supplying an archaeological plan of their sanctuaries.",
"A third name completes the sequence of objects of worship under examination. The verse is read with the questions that follow. The illustration does not invent a verified statue or sacred site for a name alone.",
"The question confronts the audience’s assignment of sons to itself and daughters to Allah. It exposes the inconsistency of that claim. The argument is not a declaration that girls possess less human worth than boys.",
"The division is called unfair within the preceding argument. The audience’s own assumptions fail to support what it attributes to Allah. The verse continues that critique rather than establishing a hierarchy of worth between human sexes.",
"Inherited names, conjecture, and desire are contrasted with guidance that has arrived. Repetition across generations does not by itself establish a claim’s truth. The verse asks for authority beyond the confidence of those making the assertion.",
"The question challenges the assumption that a person should receive whatever is desired. Desire can explain a claim without proving it. The following verse places both present life and the life to come beyond private ownership.",
"Both the earlier life and the hereafter belong to Allah. The statement answers the preceding question about personal desire. The audience cannot make its preferred outcome authoritative simply by wishing for it or repeating it.",
"Even angels’ intercession depends on divine permission and acceptance in the verse’s account. Their number or status does not make them autonomous authorities. The passage gives no visual description and no technique for controlling unseen help.",
"The accusation concerns those assigning female names to angels without belief in the hereafter. It follows the earlier challenge to unsupported attributions. The verse’s subject is knowledge and religious assertion, rather than a criticism of women.",
"The lack of knowledge is stated directly, and conjecture is denied the status of truth. This is a central distinction in the chapter. The listener is invited to examine the grounds of an assertion, not merely its familiarity.",
"The messenger is told to withdraw from someone whose attention is confined to worldly life and who rejects remembrance. The verse recognizes a limit to persuasion. The final account of that person remains beyond the messenger’s control.",
"The preceding attitude is described as the extent of their knowledge, while the Lord knows who strays and who is guided. The contrast checks human certainty. Outward confidence does not provide complete insight into another person’s standing.",
"Divine ownership of heaven and earth frames recompense for wrongdoing and goodness. The verse reconnects the argument about knowledge with conduct. Claims about truth matter within a life whose actions also receive an account.",
"The passage joins avoidance of major wrongdoing with vast mercy and knowledge of human beginnings. It then forbids declaring oneself pure. Awareness of weakness should encourage responsibility and hope, rather than public claims of guaranteed spiritual superiority.",
"An unnamed person who turns away is brought before the audience. The chapter does not supply a personal name in this verse. The following conduct matters to the argument more than a speculative biographical identification.",
"Giving a little and then withholding develops the example. The issue is the person’s response rather than the amount alone. The next question challenges whatever hidden assurance might be imagined to excuse that withdrawal.",
"The person is asked whether knowledge of the unseen supplies a basis for the conduct just described. The question exposes unsupported confidence. It does not suggest that a reader can discover another person’s hidden destiny.",
"The argument turns to what has been conveyed through the writings of Moses. The chapter places its moral teaching within an earlier prophetic inheritance. It does not identify a surviving manuscript or a dated location for that transmission.",
"Abraham is recalled through faithful fulfillment, rendered by Pickthall as paying his debt. The phrase completes the reference to earlier prophetic teaching. No exact lifespan, grave, or portrait is supplied by this brief reminder.",
"One burdened soul does not carry another’s burden. The statement establishes personal responsibility within the cited teaching. It does not erase the real influence people have upon one another, but prevents that influence from cancelling individual accountability.",
"A person’s own striving is brought into the account. The verse gives effort moral significance instead of relying on someone else’s supposed standing. It does not promise that every earthly ambition will succeed exactly as intended.",
"Human effort does not disappear beyond notice. The short assurance follows the emphasis on personal striving. Its significance includes actions that remain uncelebrated in public, while the full account belongs to a knowledge wider than human observation.",
"The effort is followed by full recompense. This completes the sequence of responsibility, striving, and recognition. The verse presents an ultimate account rather than a guarantee that rewards and losses will be evenly visible during earthly life.",
"The Lord is named as the final goal. This gathers the preceding account of effort and recompense into a direction of return. The verse does not identify an earthly endpoint that could be reached by ordinary travel.",
"Laughter and weeping bring intimate human experience into the account of divine power. The paired emotions widen the perspective beyond public deeds alone. The verse does not require suppressing either ordinary joy or an honest response to loss.",
"Giving death and giving life are named together. The chapter’s argument reaches the boundaries of human existence. The verse prepares the following reminder of origin and renewed creation without disclosing the time of any individual death.",
"The creation of male and female is named within the sequence of life’s beginnings. The emphasis is the Creator’s power rather than social rank. The verse is not a comprehensive clinical account of every variation in human development.",
"A drop poured forth supplies the image of a modest biological beginning. The verse continues the account of created life. It should not be expanded into a complete scientific model or an invented illustration of every developmental stage.",
"Renewed creation is affirmed after the reminder of the first beginning. The order connects the possibility of return with power already acknowledged. The verse gives neither a calendar date nor a physical blueprint for resurrection.",
"Enrichment and sufficiency are attributed to the Lord. The passage places material circumstances alongside life, death, and human feeling. It does not make a person’s present wealth a complete measure of moral worth or divine approval.",
"Sirius is named under the Lord’s authority, directing attention from a brilliant star to its Creator. The verse gives the star a place within the argument. It is not an instruction to worship it or predict fortunes.",
"The account turns to the destruction of the earlier ‘Ad. This adds a historical warning to the signs of power already named. The verse provides no exact date, verified ruin, or complete account of that community’s history.",
"Thamud follows in the sequence of earlier warnings. The compressed reference assumes the significance of its fate within the Quranic message. The reader does not identify later monuments as theirs without independent evidence the verse itself does not supply.",
"Noah’s people are recalled as earlier and deeply unjust. The statement supplies a relative relationship within the chapter’s warnings. It is not an absolute chronology from which precise ancient years or lifespans can be calculated.",
"The overturned community is named in Pickthall’s rendering as Al-Mu’tafikah. The brief reference supplies no location here. Its purpose is to continue the warnings, not to certify a particular modern excavation as the narrated site.",
"The covering that overtook them is expressed without added detail. The reading preserves the force and reserve of that wording. It does not invent a specific geological process or a dated archaeological layer to explain the scene.",
"A question about the Lord’s bounties gathers the preceding signs and warnings. The audience is asked to consider its response to the whole account. Recognition includes power and responsibility as well as gifts that are immediately pleasant.",
"The present warning belongs within the succession of earlier warners. This reconnects the messenger’s task with the prophetic writings already mentioned. The verse emphasizes continuity of responsibility without supplying a complete numbered list of all prophets.",
"The Hour is described as near. Its certainty and urgency matter to the chapter’s appeal, but no date is revealed. The verse cannot support a countdown tied to a contemporary event or a numerical prediction.",
"Pickthall renders the verse as saying that none besides Allah can disclose it. The statement limits human claims concerning the Hour. It completes the warning without allowing the reader to announce its hidden timetable.",
"The audience is asked about its reaction to this statement. Astonishment alone is not the attentive response sought. The next verses sharpen the contrast between the message’s seriousness and a reaction of amusement or distraction.",
"Laughter is contrasted with weeping in the response to the warning. The verse concerns the audience’s dismissive reception of this message. It does not condemn every form of ordinary joy or make constant sadness a religious ideal.",
"Amusement completes the portrait of distracted refusal. The short verse depends on the preceding questions about the audience’s response. Its position prepares the closing call to a deliberate act of worship rather than continued avoidance.",
"The chapter ends by calling for prostration and worship. Bukhari 4862 records a prostration after its recitation, with the surrounding audience joining. The verse’s prostration mark remains visible while being excluded from individual word meanings."
